Pictures of the LMS Pilgrimage to Glastonbury
The LMS Pilgrimage was held on Monday 8th September 2014 to
celebrate the birthday of Our Lady. The Mass was celebrated by Fr Bede Rowe, this
being his last Mass for in the Clifton Diocese for the foreseeable future and
we are very grateful to him for what was a lovely Mass. We are also grateful to Fr Finan for granting
permission for the Mass to take place in his parish church of Our Lady of
Glastonbury. It was unfortunate that the
Mass could not be held in the Lady Chapel in the Abbey grounds, but this was
due to the Lady Chapel being renovated.
Fr Bede gave a thought provoking homily about Our Lady's
birthday and how by celebrating it we as humans can identify with the human
aspect of Jesus through his relationship with his Mother and also through our own
maternal relationships.
After the Mass we had lunch in the parish hall, which was
well attended and thanks to Kim for providing the use of the hall and tea and
coffee.

Pictures of Farewell Party for Fr Bede Rowe
After the Mass there was a farewell party in the Church Hall
where a delicious array of food was laid on along with a special 'Farewell
Cake' made by Sara Harvey-Craig. Sara
presented Fr Bede with a card signed by all who attended the Mass. Fr Bede can be seen wielding a large sharp
knife in what looks like a menacing fashion, but he was in fact merely blessing
the cake!
Pictures of Farewell Mass for Fr Bede Rowe
The High Mass at Dursley, to say farewell to Fr Bede Rowe was
well attended with about 40 people in the congregation. Fr Bede was the Celebrant, with Fr Alex
Redman as Deacon and Fr Andrew Goodman as Sub-Deacon. It was a lovely Mass with the St Dominic's
Schola providing spiritually up-lifting music.

Ely to Walsingham Pilgrimage
From August 26th to August 28th there will be a pilgrimage from Ely to Walsingham, on the pattern of the Chartres Pilgrimage. Fr Redman was the chaplain last year, and Fr Bede Rowe has the honour of filling his boots this time.
Fr Bede hopes to get a few together from the parish so we might travel to Ely together. If you're interested then please get in touch. The parish email is stgeorgeswarminster@hotmail.co.uk
All details and booking is on the LMS website. £60 (non LMS members), others £50, under 18s (as part of a family) and students £30.
You have to be able to walk the distance but the end result is well worth it.
Go to the website and have a look...
